❤ Rocking A Color Lovers World

Lex Cosmetics is a nail brand that I've only recently heard about and had the pleasure of sampling. Their colors are beautiful, but I think best of all,  part of their proceeds go to different charities depending on the nail polish you choose.  According to their website " Lex Cosmetics is committed to sharing in its success by donating a percentage of all proceeds to organizations and non-profits that are important to you". Just let them know about groups you would love to help and each month they choose a different organization to support. Of course there are other great things about it for instance, each nail polish has a story behind it, isn't that just awesome?

One of my fave color is their TUILLERIES. The color the creator came up with firstly represents her love of spring and the undying love she has for her mother. She says" they always remind me of my mother..... I would love to have a color that can represent her in every way" She further went on to explain her color preference in detail "My color would be light pinkish-red with glass-like flecks of silver, red, pink, and orange within it to showcase the depth of both tulips and my mother". Plus, $1 will be donated to lung cancer research.

Lucky In Love
Then there is there Lucky in Love color. I'm not usually a purple nail polish wearer but you just got to love the story behind Lucky in Love.  Their website says "Lucky in Love was created by a group of girls for their friend Nicole for her wedding shower. Nicole had finally gotten Lucky in Love and was going to marry the man of her dreams. We loved the color so now it's availble to you. Hopefully you will all be Lucky in Love too!"

These nail colors are also free of formaldehyde, DBP, and toluene. Which has become a great concern for lots or people. Why? It is said they are all ingredients that has been linked to skin irritation, fatigue and a host of other problems.

  • Toluene helps suspend the color and form a smooth finish across the nail. It also affects the central nervous system and can cause headaches, dizziness and fatigue. Toluene is a possible reproductive and developmental toxin.
  • Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) adds flexibility and a moisturizing sheen, and helps dissolve other cosmetic ingredients. DBP is a reproductive and developmental toxin that has been linked to feminizing effects in baby boys
  • Formaldehyde is a known human carcinogen. It is also an irritant to the eyes, nose and throat, and can lead to skin irritation and an allergic rash called dermatitis.
I only touched on two of their colors but there are lots of others, visit their website, have a read and maybe purchase a few bottles. You can also find them on Twitter
